A Little Information...
My name is Jennifer, I also respond to Miss Jenny, Jen & Mommy. I am a Child & Youth Worker and Holistic Nutritionist. If you or anyone you know is looking for natural health & wellness support, you can check out my other website at www.nourishyourshine.com. I offer assistance with fertility, digestive, stress management and many other issues. Maybe you just want to get back to your pre-baby weight, or would like to know how to get your wee ones to eat healthfully. Check out my nutrition website for further information.
Bug n' Bean Child Care, named after my two daughters "Katie Bug" & "Sydney Bean" came about with my desire to spend as much time as possible with my beautiful girls and also continue to work with children in a professional capacity. When I considered going back to work at the end of my last maternity leave I began the search for affordable high quality daycare. As you are likely going through this yourself, you understand this difficult process. After having a heart to heart with my wonderful husband, we decided to open Bug n' Bean so I could have the best of both worlds and be able to provide the high quality care to children that I was in search of.
If you would like a detailed account of services and policies, please see the Parent Handbook link at the top of the page. Some of the highlights are, that Bug n' Bean provides education in Sign Language, French & Early Reading skills, parents are updated regularly regarding their child's interactions/activities and a quality care environment is provided at reasonable rates with receipts. All of this is available from an award winning Child & Youth Worker with 17 years of experience who is trained in Fire Safety, First-Aid, CPR and has had a Police Check.
I provide professional care in a loving and warm home environment giving each child a sense of safety and security. Having two children myself, I know leaving your child to go to work can be full of anxiety. I want all of my parents to know that when they leave their child at Bug n’ Bean, they will receive the best possible care.
I began my career working in a daycare, moved on to working with children in residential treatment facilities & community based programs and have served the community for many years working with several committees and organizations. If you'd like to know more, I have outlined some of my employment history under the Background link above.

Educational Programs...
We do not watch television at Bug n' Bean but will utilize educational programs as part of our Music & Movement, Sign Language, French and Early Literacy education. Here are a couple of examples of resources we use.
